We may have a White Valentine's

If the weatherman is right we are getting some snow tonight (Feb 11, 2010) and early tomorrow (Feb 12, 2010). There is a chance my office will close. I'd would not like to drive in this bad weather as I have no experience -- and no one in this area has either. Right now it is cold but it is not raining. Here are some radar pictures.

Hurricane “WHO DAT” is scheduled to make a landfall in Miami, Florida on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at 6:45 p.m. eastern time. It will be bringing Shockey Waves and Strong Breeses.

CAUTION: This violent hurricane has already sunk a Viking Ship.

Se estima que el huracán WHO DAT llegará a Miami [dónde se jugará el partido] el domingo 7 de febrero a las 6:45. Traerá un gran oleaje y fuertes brisas [usando los nombres de jugadores: Shockey y Brees] Este "huracán" ya hundió un barco vikingo. [Los Santos derrotaron al equipo los Vikingos de Minnesota].

Super Tazón

Este domingo, 7 de febrero, 2010, se jugará el 44* Super Tazón en Miami, Florida, EE. UU. Los equipos de fútbol americano que llegaron a la final del torneo son los Potros de Indianapolis y los Santos de Nueva Orleans.

Es la primera vez en 43 años que este equipo llega a la final. Los habitantes de Nueva Orleans están más que contentos por esto. Ha habido desfiles y celebraciones para festejar este gran suceso. Esta fotografía fue tomada a la salida de misa en una iglesia de Nueva Orleans. El cura salió a despedir a los ferigreses:

Y como dijo mi hermano: "Este padrecito ya puso a todos los "Santos" de cabeza para que les traigan suerte para el domingo".







Aunque no veo muchos partidos deportivos por televisión, este partido no me lo pierdo. Y como vivo tan cerca de Louisiana, obvio que le voy a los Santos de Nueva Orleans.

WHO DAT!!!!!!

The Super Bowl will be played this coming Feb 7th. The oponents are the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints.

This is the first time in 43 years that the Saints make it to the Super Bowl. Everyone in New Orleans has been celebrating this event. The picture above was taken outside a church in N. O., the priest is showing his colors. My brother commented that this priest probably has all his "Saints" upsidedown hoping that they win.

As I live so close to Louisiana, I, obviously, am for the Saints.

The Spirit of Christmas/El Espíritu Navideño

Michael's blog ran a Spirit of Christmas video contest. There were many great entries. I saw the videos and you can tell people made a big effort to put them together. The deadline for submissions was January 15, 2010 to give people a chance to film it and edit it using footage of Christmas 2009.
The video below was chosen as the winner. Every time I watch it it gives me chills. It tells a very moving story. The least I can do is to share it with all of you.

Michael organizó un concurso de videos con el tema El Espíritu Navideño. Pariciparon muchos y los videos son muy buenos. Vi todos los videos y se nota que las personas hicieron un gran esfuerzo al grabarlos y editarlos. La fecha límite para participar fue el 15 de enero de 2010 para darle oportunidad a las personas de filmarlo y editarlo usando lo que grabaron en la Navidad de 2009.
El video a continuación fue el elegido como ganador. Cada vez que lo veo me dan escalofríos. Cuenta una historia muy conmovedora. Lo menos que puedo hacer es compartirlo con todos ustedes.
